On Sunday, Aaron asked the boys to join with him to go to a zone meeting that is held by one of our stake presidents at the first of each month. It was a great meeting where they had a discussion about how we gain, maintain, and even lose trust. Aaron shared with us at dinner how inspired the topic was because with the roll out of the phones and his ability to see their activity on FB, it has been difficult to trust that they are using them wisely. Especially, when at 10:30 you can see so many of them are on FB when they should be going to bed. We have put in so much time and energy to help them be obedient, love their purpose, and choose to do the right thing, at times it can feel like all that we have been doing has been for not. Nevertheless, no matter how hard it can be at times, we are grateful for the ability to see them not as they are, but who they will be come. Heavenly Father is so patient with each of us and as we are with others, we see them as He does.
I went to lunch with a good friend on Monday. It is always so nice to catch up with her. Our lunches last at least two hours because we have great conversations. We tried a new place that recently opened called Pacific Coast Tacos. A fun, new flavorful twist on tacos.
Aaron and I continued with interviews this week. Tuesday, we were with the Richmond zone, Wednesday we drove to the Bay City zone and then up to the Houston zone on Thursday. We had the same format and discussion as last week. However, as I have met with the missionaries and viewed all the videos I would have ah-ha moments of inspiration in using a principle from one video and combining or tweaking with another. I extended the opportunity for missionaries to try the idea and create a how-to video to post on our #THSM messenger group. The Lake Jackson district was up for the challenge with lunch with me on the line. They had posted the video by that evening so guess who is going back to Lake Jackson for lunch next week? I hope the video post spurs the rest of the mission to share ideas and ways they are utilizing the principles they are learning from the videos.
After our last interviews, Aaron and I welcomed four new Temple Square sisters and it was a global event. One from Taiwan, China, Brazil, and Mongolia. Three of the four learned English at the MTC and they’ve all been out now about 8 months. They are so eager to knock doors, work with members, and teach face to face with a real live person. We are so excited to have them in our mission and call them ours! ;)
Friday Aaron and I divided and conquered to get things done. He went to Bode's game and I went to pick up Allie. Bode had a great defensive game playing the whole time and scoring 9 points. See the RankOne Sport summary. His team also won 54-51. YEAH! I’m so happy to have Allie girl back in Texas!! Makes my mom heart happy. Later that night we had the ward Christmas party. Great food and fun family togetherness. As a family, we went to see Star Wars, The Last Jedi. A great show that I could liken to a lot of gospel principles too. ;)
